COMMON MEALS

Common meals will be an important part of the glue that holds our community together.  The Common Meals bring residents together for a convenient and pleasurable time of fellowship and sharing.

We plan to share several (at least three) common meals each week.  Every adult is expected to cook dinner in the Common House once a month, as either the main or assistant cook.    While the typical meal should be healthy, it may be as simple or fancy as the cook chooses.

Residents can attend the common meals as often as they like.  Each person will pay a nominal amount for the meal.  For example at Southside Park Cohousing in Sacramento, the typical meal costs $3.   Meal times will be set by the group or the cook.  At Nevada City Cohousing, some meals are at 7 pm and others are at 6 pm to accommodate small children.

... and so do adults!
